A guild-run art contest that I'm in is ending in a month on July 1, so I thought I'd run it by the community again. There are some massive prizes, with a huge group contest and some individual and couples contests to participate in. Several folks only have a couple entries, so anyone who loves to art might consider checking it out.

Hi everybody :)
I just opened up shop on Gaia and so far have no takers. If anyone likes blinkies or banners and wants them made with your avatar, feel free to come to my thread and play. Bumping gets you free stuff :)
Even if you just show up to vote in the poll or bump, please thumbs-up my thread :D
I realize this community has been dead for like a year...but hey, I figured it's worth a shot :)

Hello! I'm new to this community and tough it would be nice to introduce myself with some artworks! I've retired from commissions on GaiaOnline for the moment but I'm still an active commenter and critiquers in the art forums. (Don't ask me to look at your work if you can't take critiques!) I'm mainly looking for help and tips here from fellow artists to improve and progress. No need to be careful with me: I'm working in the art industry and I'm used to heavy critiques (LOVE those!). The only things I don't want to read on my posts are style bashing and pointless "you suck" comments. If you don't like what I do, feel free to tell me but please elaborate.
Now, enough babbling, here's the art!

I've decided to hold an art contest, and the grand prize is a Ninja Headband, and Gutair of Demonia. Totaling about 180k. I have lots of other prizes too, as well as a bump contest. The total prize amount is about 378k.

A few comments please read this before you comment and/or critique. Thanks.
I'm not sure where I got the idea for this drawing. o.o It just sorta came to me I guess. I realize there are some glaring errors in anatomy, but let me tell you what was done purposefully.
THEY ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO HAVE ARMS...just as long as you get that. ^-^ He is looking to the side and she is looking at them. and yes I meant for their eyes to be like they are. :D
Um...what else. OH! Good critiqueing always has at least one thing good. If you can't give a proper critique I will discard it and/or use it to roast marshmellows over. ^-^
As always general comments are great!
Oh and the text at the bottom says:

Hello!
I'm Lin, otherwise known as Tatsuya Elsar on Gaia. I would like to bring to your attention a nice fun thread thats been in existance for quiet some time.
It's is called Avatar Art Swap, or AAS for short. The AAS is a thread created for artists to swap artwork or give Gift Art. Artists are welcome to chat in this thread as well. The point is to make friends while practicing art skills. Of course AAS is not limited to just avatar art you can also swap original character pieces as well as fanart.
As the Co-owner of AAS I invite you and your friends to have a fun time while drawing.

I'm itching to do one of these, just because I'm having the bad urge to go back into NYC, and would love for some friends to come along.
But my idea is to get another NYC DA - type Meet together, but reach it out to others also whom are not members of DeviantART.
People of DeviantART, y!Gallery, SheezyArt, art communities here on LiveJournal, friends whom realy aren't in any online galleries *pokes Tammy, Heather and Chad* could all go, as long as they can go.
It will be in NYC, easiest place to meet is NY Penn Station, in front of Muldoons Irish pub.
We could hit places like Kinokuniya, BookOff, Pearl Paints, Midtown Comics, TLA Video, Central Park, Times Square.. whatever other places any one can think of. Whatever suits your fancy ^_^.
It would basically be a day where we could all meet new faces, make new friends, molest old friends, do some shopping, hang out, during our sit down times just draw our little hearts out, let the photographers amoung us take photos to their hearts content, that whole thing ^_^.
I'd LIKE for it to be held sometime between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Date and time would be decided by the group once we get some interest in the Meet.
SO.... anyone interested in coming? Even if you're living in PA and south Jersey *hinthintwinkwink*, and would be interested in meeting other artists of all genres and their friends, tag along ^_^.
